These days we seem to be trained to see the negative in everything. Ask anyone to list the positives they find in their lives and I bet they will struggle. With such an increase in the reliance on technology and social media there is a huge amount of content out there making us feel inadequate.

You know those posts friends put up of their awesome lives, flawless skin and impeccable fashion sense. Most of which is not in fact real, rather staged and glorified look into their lives. Furthermore, each of these people are probably just getting on with it as you are yourself. Trudging through the daily grind pretending they have this amazing life, when, just like you they are missing something.

Gratitude; the art of being Grateful

Being grateful is something we should all practice regularly. Practising gratitude is a sure-fire way to help retrain our brains to see the positives in life, making the negatives seem far less important. It helps to build your self-esteem, decrease depression and improving resilience. Making a habit of practising gratitude daily is the best way to detox from social media expectations. Realizing what is truly important to you and how rich you really are.
